Don’t miss your chance to participate. It is only $20 per participant, and you will receive a “Hit the Bricks” T-shirt as well as a chance to win gift certificates from local restaurants or a $500 discount on textbooks from the bookstore.
Luminaries and mini bricks will be sold in the bookstore until 6pm the day of the event! Also, 10% of the Bookstore’s proceeds for the day will go to the Brian Piccolo Cancer Fund!
There are some great features to this year’s event:
Tuesday Trivia & Showing of Brian’s Song: Hit the Bricks and Student Union will host Tuesday Trivia from 8:00-9:00 PM and present the movie Brian’s Song at 9PM on Tuesday, September 25th. Come out to the Mag Quad to enjoy a night with friends and learn about the life of the late football star, Brian Piccolo.
Speed Week Time Trials: This year, Balfour and Under Armour are sponsoring a time trials event on Wednesday, September 26th. Between 4:00 and 6:00 PM, teams will be encouraged to have one runner complete the fastest lap around the Quad possible. Each person who runs will receive an Under Armour t-shirt as well as 15 bonus laps for their team. The fastest male and female runner will receive a free class ring from Balfour.
Congrats to last year’s participants who helped to make this event a huge success and raised $26,782! We managed to complete 25,571 laps with 89 teams. The fraternity division was won by Lambda Chi Alpha. The sorority division was won by Alpha Delta Pi. BB Luters took home the win for the freshmen division. Wombuckus were the winners in the open division. Last, but certainly not least, the Crusaders and Dean’s Demons won the faculty/staff division. Our two winners for the Under Armour Speed Week Time Trials were Connor McCarthy and Morgan Schutte.
